Why is there an extra $1 charge on my credit card statement?

When members use our checkout to purchase a membership, our payment gateway sends a $1 request to the relevant issuing institution to verify that the card is valid and the bank will allow the purchase to be authorised. 

This $1 charge will not be charged to you and will usually disappear from your statement within a fortnight.
